Healing Companion Journal

Version Two of “Healing Companion Journal” is now available.  I have made a few corrections to formatting.  I also added a line to track “Irritability” on Page One. If you are like me, you may not realize how quickly your pain level is rising until you first realize how quickly your irritability level is rising.

The Journal is still available in the full 8 1/2 x 11 inch size.  You asked for it and so the smaller size has now been reduced to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and has been formatted to fit on 1 sheet of paper. This size will also fit in a standard 3-ring binder.  I actually slice mine down the center, staple them and carry them with me through the day using the backs to make any other notes.  At the end of the day, I punch them and put them in the binder.

I am still working on the full project.  For the finished product, I intend to have a monthly calendar, various articles about using areas of the journal and pages to keep records of medications, doctors/pharmacies phone numbers, etc.  You have also requested a way to graph the various areas that the journal is tracking.  That is something I intend to have available as soon as possible.

Please feel free to print out, use and share these pages.  All I ask is that you please come back here or email me at tamara@desiretoheal.com with your honest feedback.  My greatest wish is to make this product as useful for as many people as I possibly can.

Tamara,
This is fantastic. Now I just have to find a binder and get somewhere to print out a ton of these. I am thinking an OLD planner would work great.
Thank you for all your time and efforts making these.
HUGS, Denice

Let me know what size binder you end up with. The smaller one is not a standard size, I don’t believe. I have to figure out what the top standard sizes are and create a print out for that size. Glad you like it. I do see a couple of things I need to adjust, but let me know if you find any problems or have suggestions! :)

Ha! Don’t think the rich thing will work out. Just hoping the journal can help us all track our symptoms, manage our illnesses and pace ourselves better. I have a new version with a couple of tweaks coming out probably tomorrow. :)

So glad that you think it will work for you! Please let me know how it goes. I have already been able to see some patterns in my pain and have made a couple of changes from using the journal! :)

Used the journal for the first time yesterday. I Love it. I had made my own “spreadsheet” to track symptoms etc last year, but definitely was not as inclusive as this. Thanks so much for sharing. Will continue to use. Annie

This is so great Tamara! I don’t know how you stay so productive and accomplish so much with all that you’re dealing with. I really admire you for that!
My husband and I were just talking bout me needing to keep a record of my symptoms and this is just perfect! I’ve printed up a weeks worth and I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work…it is appreciated, very much!

Hi Tamara!
This looks fantastic! Thanks for all your hard work. Have you thought about creating an app for this for iPhone and other smartphones. I depend so much on my phone to do many things. It would also be awesome if somehow it could trigger a timer to remind to fill it out. :)

Hi Kim,

I would LOVE to create an iPhone app, but don’t know the first thing about doing that. I need to find some free time so that I can research. In the meantime I hope you can find the paper copy helpful. :)

I still use the Journal daily myself, Mel. I find it helps me see patterns in my illness and pain that I can then work with through diet or medication or just getting more rest. Hope it helps you also. :)
